The site for the 2012 Neighbors South Coalition build has been prepared for the work to begin. Take a look at the following pictures. Saturday, March 17th, 2012Neighbors South Coalition was honored at the 18th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Friday, March 16. We were surprised to learn that Neighbors South was chosen as the Coalition on the year. Congratulations to all who have helped provide simple decent homes for families.
2012 Site Selected
Thursday, December 8th, 2011Habitat has selected the site for the 2012 Build for Neighbors South Coalition. A home damaged by fire was torn down on Wednesday, November 23, at 2460 S 19th St. A new home will be built in the summer of 2012 at this site. Plan now to help Neighbors South build a new home for a family in South Omaha.
2011 Build is Complete
Friday, August 26th, 2011The Neighbors South Coalition has completed its work on the 13th home. Dedication is scheduled for Sunday, September 11, 4 pm at the home. Come on out and celebrate with the family and all of the volunteers that made this new home possible.
2011 Build Underway
Saturday, June 11th, 2011The 2011 Neighbors South Habitat build is underway. This is the thirteen house this coalition has built. Sixteen volunteers came out for the first day. Here is what it looked like as the day ended. 
The second day is well underway with 25 volunteers hard at work. At mid-day, here is the progress. 
The work continues each weekend (except July 4th) and we’d love to share in the fun. Come on out!!
Dedication of the 12th Home Built by Neighbors South
Monday, October 4th, 2010A nice group of volunteers and supporters gathered on Sunday, October 3, to welcome Andreya Mayom, Alek Kur and their children into their new home.
Andreya addressed the gathered group expressing his sincere thanks for the work of providing his family a home. He described the home that he grew up in the Sudan. It was made of grass and easily destroyed. “This home will mean that my family will be safe and secure.”

2008 Build Lot
Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008Neighbors South Coalition will build a new home for a mother and her five children on this lot at 1902 South 11th Street. At this time twelve congregations are a part of the Coalition. We welcome other congregations interested in participating in this very important effort.
Contributions can be sent to Pr. Damon Laaker at Grace Lutheran Church, 1326 S 26th Street, Omaha, NE 68105. Please make the check payable to Habitat for Humanity.
Come visit this site often. We begin building Friday, June 20. We plan to keep interested persons updated on our progress.
