The first weekend of the build is a tremendous success. The walls are all in place. The trusses are set and the sheating is on. It’s beginning to look like a house that will become a home!

Volunteers, friends, neighbors and Habitat staff joined together to dedicate Malyun Fathal’s new home.

Malyun plans to move into her new home near the end of the month. She and her five boys have a safe, secure home in which to grow.

Special thanks to Jim Carlson who kept the build on task.

As you can see, a home is soon to occupy this space. The walls are up, the roof is on, the windows and doors have been installed, siding has begun. The empty lot with a hole in the ground has been transformed. A new house is rising.

A wonderful team of folks showed up for the first two days. As you can see, the walls and the trusses are in place. This next weekend the roof will be put on and soon it will look like a real home.

Now is the time to make plans to come on out and help. The rallying cry can be “all hands on deck.” Our new homeowner was also on site and smiling from ear to ear.

The deck is on and it appears that the weather will hold. Workers are invited to show up at 11th & Center beginning Friday, July 11. Invite a friend, bring a neighbor, let’s do this in a big way!

Keep the information flowing to others. Gifts and donations are important as we begin this work. Share the story of how this work transforms the lives of those who reside in Habitat homes.
